Beef and vegetable pie

Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients (serves 4)
2 tablespoon Flour, wheat, white, plain
2 cup Mixed vegetables, frozen, boiled or microwaved, drained
1 tablespoon Oil, canola
4 sheet Pastry, fillo (phyllo), raw
2 steak Beef, blade steak, lean, raw
2 cup Water, tap
4 teaspoon Mixed herbs, dried
Method
- Add the vegetables to the mixture and continue until vegetables are cooked.
- Cut 4 sheets of filo pastry into quarters.
- Place the mixture into 4 carafe disshes and then add the 4 sheets of filo quarters, spray canola oil between each sheet. Brush the top of the final sheet of pastry with milk.
- Once the beef is golden brown, take the flour and add a small amount of water to make a paste. Add the rest of the water to the beef and continue to stir until it thickens. Once the sauce thickens, turn down the heat.
- Take the steak and cut into pieces around 1.5cm thick. Fry in a large saucepan and add the herbs. Take the vegetables from the freezer and allow to thor.
- Bake in the oven at 160 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, until the tops of the pie are golden brown.
